Asphalt runway and shoulder removed and resurfaced with 8,000 tons of P401 asphalt. This project included backfill and sod, re-installing of runway lights, electrical & utilities and re-striping of runway. The new drainage system, in accordance with the airport's master drainage plan, included installation of over 9,000 LF of Class IV concrete pipe in sizes from 18” RCP to 29” x 45” HERCP, removal and replacement of over 44,000 CY of earth and 6,000 CY of rock. The project was finished with the placement of topsoil and 1.5 million SF of Bahia sod.
The West Quad Pond project consisted of the construction of a 3 1/2 acre Stormwater Management pond in an environmentally sensitive area. Construction also included a multi-use asphalt pathway, a wooden pile supported bridge over the pond area with observation platform. The pond’s function is to control the stormwater flow from the airport drainage and to maintain the water quality of the Gordon River.
