Staff, students, parents and community supporters of Coldwater Community Schools gathered Wednesday morning to celebrate the groundbreaking of the district’s $29.75 million bond project, which will fund improvements to 5 facilities over the course of the next 3 years.
Bond improvements feature a new two-story, fourth and fifth elementary building and upgrades to the middle school, high school and Jefferson Elementary.
The construction timeline of the bond improvements is as follows:
2019/2020
- Legg Middle School: Mechanical and electrical upgrades, energy management system, technology improvements, modern furnishings, and interior finishes, including classroom casework
- New 4/5 Building: Construction of a new two-story 4th and 5th grade elementary building, new bus loop, with delivery area, visitor/event parking, new playground, technology improvements, and modern furnishings
- Jefferson Elementary: Partial roof replacement, technology improvements, and modern furnishings
2021
- Coldwater High School: Partial roof replacement, locker room remodel, replacement of corridor lockers, and interior door improvements
