Hard Hats, Strong Hearts: Orange team builds Halloween wheelchair costumes with Mary Free Bed
This year at Halloween, our Orange Team joined forces with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital and students from Grand Valley State University to design and build wheelchair costumes for patients. Each child selected their costume theme, and it was up to the volunteers to make those dreams come to life. Costumes included a batmobile, dragon, and pony. There were enough costumes to fill a parade in downtown Grand Rapids, complete with the Forest Hills Marching Band. This event was supported as part of our Hard Hats, Strong Hearts volunteer initiative, designed to align employees with causes they're passionate about, while impacting local families and organizations. A special thanks goes out to our Orange Team for their dedication to this event, including team captain, Rob Gulliver. Check out photos from the construction day.
