O‑A‑K hires seven new employees

(GRAND RAPIDS, MI) – Owen‑Ames‑Kimball Co. (O‑A‑K), local professional construction firm, announces the additions of Jerry Moomey, Joe O’Connor, Ralph Shiffer, Tim Robinson and Chris Pillars as Project Superintendents; Jim Marsman as Carpenter; and Mandalyn Powers as Billing Clerk.

Grand Rapids Team

Jerry Moomey, Project Superintendent, brings 28 years of commercial construction leadership experience. He specializes in interior finishes and healthcare construction, and he holds his OSHA 50-Hour Supervisor Certification.

Joe O’Connor, Project Superintendent, holds his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Ferris State University and received Professional Military Instruction from the Marine Corps Institute. He has over 15 years of experience in the field.

Ralph Shiffer, Project Superintendent, also holds his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Ferris State University. He has a background in carpentry and carries his Storm Water Certification from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), and 30-hour OSHA training certificate. He has 10 years of construction industry experience.

Jim Marsman, Carpenter, has worked in the construction industry for 33 years in several capacities, ranging from concrete laborer to steel worker. He holds his Airframe and Powerplant License from Spartan School of Aeronautics and Technology.

Mandalyn Powers, Billing Clerk, graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Sciences. She has a background in the insurance field and holds her Resident Producer Property & Casualty (P&C) License.

Kalamazoo Team

Tim Robinson joins our Kalamazoo team as a Project Superintendent. He possesses more than 20 years of construction management experience, as both a laborer and superintendent. Tim has received 30-hour OSHA training and holds his Storm Water Certification from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ).

Chris Pillars has 29 years of construction experience and also joins our Kalamazoo team as Project Superintendent. He is a journeyman carpenter and has a Health Care Construction (HCC) Certificate from the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).
