How will a content-rich site enhance the way we do business?
We are excited to bring you our new corporate website! When we first embarked on this redevelopment project, one year ago, we identified three goals: 1) Humanize our site by highlighting our amazing people; 2) Enhance the depth and accessibility of our content; and 3) Unify our Michigan and Florida content, to align with our operational structure as one single company. Here are a few ways we tackled these goals throughout the site:
1) Humanize our site by highlighting our amazing people
A good culture is something that’s difficult to define but easy to spot. And it starts with people. We wanted to give website visitors a feel for who we are, not just as employees, but also as humans, so we embarked on a different kind of video project. We developed several distinct O‑A‑K Story videos to showcase team members in every department. The stories are featured on our homepage and sprinkled throughout the site. Additionally, we’ve included a webpage specifically dedicated to our team and intentionally feature people-oriented content throughout the site. The result? A more accurate depiction of what you can expect when you hire our company - good people.
2) Enhance the depth and accessibility of our content
We are fortunate beyond measure to work with several community-driven organizations, each with their own interesting story behind their construction project(s). Literally every project has a story. So we came up with new ways to share our clients’ project stories in a variety of formats: project profiles are now linked to news stories, new projects are featured on the homepage and in several additional places throughout the site, and our photo galleries are enhanced for better social sharing (a picture really is worth a thousand words, or more!) Additionally, our operational pages such as subcontractors and careers are enhanced to give those specific audiences direct access to the people and content they need to connect with our projects.
3) Unify our Michigan and Florida content
Organizationally, we are one company. Our Michigan and Florida groups rely heavily on each other to offer the most comprehensive, professional construction management services on the market. To give our clients a more representative view of our experience and capabilities, we’ve combined our projects sections, our services and our community partnerships. As a company, this unity is imperative to our continued success.
A good culture is something that’s difficult to define but easy to spot. And it starts with people.
