Oakridge Public Schools broke ground on their $16.1 million bond project on Wednesday, October 14th, at their Lower Elementary building. This milestone occasion for the Oakridge community is a result of successfully passing a bond proposal in November 2019. The bond will allow for upgrades to all of the buildings in the district, starting with the Lower Elementary building and ending with the Early Childhood center. The bond is funding 14 additional classrooms, two new gymnasiums, a small group instructional space, a media center, and new or renovated bathrooms at all schools. Construction will be completed in three phases and is scheduled for completion in 2022.
Alongside district task forces and committees, many local organizations have played a role in developing this project. Owen‑Ames‑Kimball Co. is providing construction management services; TowerPinkster is the architectural firm.
It means so much to them. I can just envision the smiles on their faces already!
