Owen-Ames-Kimball Company (O-A-K) recently completed renovations at the Lee County-owned Pine Island Commercial Marina in St. James City, Fla. The more than $876,000 project included the addition of a new, wider boat ramp, new docks to increase space, and a newly dredged channel to allow better access for marine vessels. Renovations also included an enhanced barge landing and the creation of a new seawall.
While use of the Pine Island Commercial Marina is limited to commercial traffic throughout the week, it is a popular launching spot for anglers and recreational boaters on weekends, year-round. The completion of dredging and renovations at the marina improves safety for all, and ensures that the barges servicing the outer islands are able to continue material deliveries and trash pickup.
The O-A-K team on the Pine [Pine Island Commercial Marina-1] Island Commercial Marina project included Shan Gaar as project manager, and Rodney Mitchell as job site superintendent.
