Owen‑Ames‑Kimball Welcomes Six Interns

Owen‑Ames‑Kimball Company (O‑A‑K), a premier general contractor with a longstanding presence in Southwest Florida, welcomes six interns: Anthony Arfuso, Eric Burgess, Jarret Halley, David Lozano, Quinn Rudler and Ayberk Vergul. The interns will work with the O‑A‑K team to gain first-hand experience into the field of construction contracting and management, developing the knowledge and skills that will help them prepare for success in future careers within the industry.

Arfuso, a graduate of Estero High School is a junior at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), studying civil engineering. He is an FGCU Engineering ambassador and an American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Steel Bridge competitor.

Burgess is studying civil engineering at FGCU. From Middlebury, Indiana, he anticipates pursuing a career in the engineering field following his graduation in spring 2021.

Halley is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at FGCU and expects to graduate in spring 2020. He has wanted to be a civil engineer since participating in Project Lead the Way, a high school STEM program in New Port Richey, Florida.

Lozano holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Colombia and a postgraduate degree in Project Management from El Bosque University, both in Bogota, Colombia. He is currently pursuing an Associate of Science in Architectural Design and Construction Technology at Florida Southwestern State College (FSW).

Rudler received his Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship from FGCU in May, 2019. While studying at FGCU he was accepted into and participated in Lutgert College’s interdisciplinary Runway Program, a 16-week business incubator.

Vergul earned his associate degree from FSW and is studying civil engineering at FGCU. After graduation, he plans to work in civil engineering and eventually pursue a postgraduate degree in architecture.
