This project called for the complete transformation of a former golf resort (Yarrow Golf & Conference Resort) into the new Skywood Recovery Facility, one of Foundation Recovery Network’s residential treatment centers. The center offers integrated treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief/loss and psychological trauma.
Construction scope included a new 6,851 square foot office and fitness center expansion to the main dining facility, extensive renovations to existing housing facilities, upgrades to sitework to tie in the non-municipal water supply to the fire protection system, and new fire suppression throughout the existing and new buildings.
The office and fitness center addition connects to each of the two existing hotels (which have now been converted to resident housing) through newly enclosed glass walkways. To accommodate the new walkways and create better flow, the building footprints for each former hotel were extended on one side. Additional concrete paths were constructed, connecting three adjacent apartment facilities.
The project was completed in phases, so that the facility could get up and running as quickly as possible. Operations officially began in May 2016, and construction of the addition was complete in December 2016.
