Franklin Park Elementary School, located in the heart of Fort Myers, is a testament to the School District of Lee County's commitment to innovation, community, and education. This modern facility, designed by RG Architects and constructed through a collaboration between Tobler Construction and Owen‑Ames‑Kimball Co. (O‑A‑K), redefines the standard for elementary education in the region.
Completed in July 2024 and spanning 122,518 square feet, the campus includes a 100-student Pre-K Center, a 700-student K-5 building, and a groundbreaking 19,317-square-foot community outreach center — the first in the School District of Lee County. This addition serves as a vital resource hub for the surrounding Dunbar neighborhood, reflecting the project’s focus on community development.
Preserving its rich history, bricks from the original 1958 structure were incorporated into the rebuild, maintaining a connection to Franklin Park’s roots.
The Tobler/O‑A‑K joint venture, established in 2014, has completed more than 20 projects, many of which serve the Dunbar and Fort Myers communities. This rebuild fulfills a promise made following the 2018 approval of the half-cent sales tax, standing as a beacon of progress and educational excellence in Lee County.
