Gentex

This new construction/addition project for Gentex Corp., a global electronic engineering company, consisted of a 145,000 sf expansion built literally in the middle of two existing and separate buildings. Challenges included tying the existing infrastructure together, as the existing buildings were at different elevations, and completing the project within an 11 month (fast-track) time period. Project was completed as a joint venture partnership with our friends at GDK Construction.

The existing buildings remained fully occupied and in production throughout construction. Careful and detailed planning and on-site supervision were key components to minimizing disruption to the Gentex operations.

The building addition includes space for a full cafeteria, office space, research & development area, restrooms, locker rooms and maintenance space. The space accommodates approximately 300 additional employees.

Project scope also included the relocation of the existing nitrogen production farm.
