This addition/renovation project included 9,000 sf of new space and renovations to the existing building. The Haworth Engineering Center now spans three levels containing a two story design lab with expansive exterior windows for natural light, nine new faculty offices, new laboratory spaces, and a new computer-aided design (CAD) lab that doubles the size of the former CAD lab.
The ground floor provides additional space for research and equipment, helping the department expand the opportunities that it provides for students through collaborative faculty-student research and make the most of existing resources. For example, the program has an industrial-quality wind tunnel—built several years ago by students—that was formerly housed in another building.
This project is a joint venture between Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. and GDK Construction. We are performing under the name G.O. CONSTRUCTION.
